Excellent artists like Benoît Lachambre, and jung national choreographers like Johnny Lloyd or Sven Seger showed in their dance productions a potpourri of contemporary dance styles. They inspire the audiences with acrobatics and dance conception, avantgarde and pop culture.

With her DanceKiosk.Hamburg project, Angela Guerreiro hit the nerve of the artist community: numerous dancers and choreographers already confirmed their presence for the next year.

In Hamburg they are content with John Neumeiers culinary ‘Ballett-Tage’. But DanceKiosk wants to bring the weakened contemporary dance scene at the river Elbe back to life and establishes its services (…) as a permanent offer.

Of course he is not dancing it – the dance of death. Paulo Castro just talks about it, because otherwise he would have to die. His monologue reflects the conflicts within the market-oriented milieu of art-production. This piece is a very appropriate conclusion of Angela Guerreiro’s DanceKiosk program.

A beautiful movement in the dance community!

The humor of this purely white performance is absolutely black. Lachambre, with his paper hat on his head, recalls those images of torture from Irak.

Hamburger Abendblatt, 18.7.2005

In their piece ‘White Trash’ Benoît Lachambre and Isabelle Schad present a work of impressive consistency about the fragmentation of sensuality and the selective stimulation of our perception. Rationally observed, these two professional and experienced performers reduce their piece to an encounter of two individuals in the field of tension within the social micro cosmos of the performance stage. But after a while this journey unfolds within the internal spaces of thoughts and senses, and drags you into a kind of trance you cannot escape.

This is how you can travel through the body; Benoît Lachambre steps out of any kind of category. As a person as well as an artist.

He keeps it all in suspension. At the theater Hamburger Sprechwerk Hip-Hop-Poet Johnny Lloyd surprises with his virtuosity, balancing his play with Beat boxing, Break-dance, Glass balls and words. Astonishingly flexible in thought, as well as physicality…
