DanceKiosk-Hamburg started as a pilot project in July 2005. Its ongoing goal is the support of new generations of dancers and choreographers in Hamburg and abroad, with the creation of a platform for the independent dance scene. Aiming for growth and development, DanceKiosk-Hamburg invites guest teachers and choreographers to offer daily trainings and workshops. The festival DanceKiosk.ShotCuts features the most recent productions of the invited artists.

DanceKiosk-Hamburg's main goal is the exchange of knowledge. Accordingly, physical as well as intellectual exercises are part of the program. DanceKiosk-Hamburg introduces its dance students to new ways of physical and mental expression and hopes to increase the participants’ understanding of dance as a constantly developing art form.

DanceKiosk-Hamburg focuses on practical and theoretical approaches within the new contemporary dance scene. Intelligent minds create intelligent bodies.

DanceKiosk-Hamburg focuses on the needs of the dancer/performer of today.

DanceKiosk-Hamburg introduces its participants to the tool of research in order to increase choreographic quality standards.

DanceKiosk-Hamburg introduces its participants to the use, meaning, and importance of stage elements (light, sound, etc.).

DanceKiosk-Hamburg incorporates new approaches, concepts, and aesthetics attached to the creation of choreographic work.
